The first images of Toshiba’s purported Tegra 4 tablet have popped up online, courtesy of Greek tech mag Techblog.gr.

The photos show a 10.1-inch tablet with a keyboard dock and a voluptuous, curvy design. Nothing breathtaking, but it looks pretty good. The processor is clocked at 1.8GHz and the tablet runs Android 4.2.1.Sadly though, the rest of the spec is still vague. It features a memory card slot, mini HDMI output and stereo speaker, but other than that we have nothing to go on.

Since Tegra 4 is still not ready for prime time, the Toshiba AT10LE-A Leggi tutto >>

Autore: Welcome to Fudzilla

Nvidia announced Tuesday that its Tegra team has been bolstered by Deepu Talla, a former Texas Instruments executive who used to head TI’s SoC business. Talla is now an Nvidia VP and he will head the company’s Tegra business unit.

Phil Carmack, the former Tegra boss, is leaving Nvidia to become a CEO in one of Nvidia’s partner companies, reports Xbit Labs.

Talla has extensive experience in mobile computing, with ten years of service at Texas Instruments. He eventually advanced to general manager of TI’s OMAP unit. Sadly though, TI chose to ditch the consumer Leggi tutto >>

Tegra 4i is reserved for phones

There is no doubt that Tegra 4 is very late indeed. This promising 28nm A15 chip had its fair share of difficulties and it has been said that the chip will start shipping in Q2 2013. We have clarified this and it turns out that Nvidia hopes to see some products based on Tegra 4 before the end of June 2013.

There have been some rumors that Project Shield is among the first to show and we expect to see more about this interesting new console before Computex, or end of May 2013. It turns out that Tegra 4 is now targeting

Nvidia Analyst Day: Kepler comes to smartphones and tablets with Tegra 5, and more

Autore: ExtremeTech

At its financial analyst day last week, Nvidia spilled some details on upcoming projects that are worth looping back and catching up on. Nvidia is one of the rare tech companies openly cheerful about the last quarter — and announced that it would return $ 1 billion in cash to shareholders this year thanks to a mixture of stock buybacks and dividend payments. Mobile technology is one of the major reasons Nvidia is excited about the next 12-18 months, so let’s talk about the Tegra family.

Nvidia Logan e Parker, rivelati due nuovi chip Tegra

2

Autore: Gadgetblog.it

T4i carrier certification also expected in Q2

Tegra 4 is a couple of still months away, but now we have a slightly clearer picture of what to expect, and when.

Nvidia plans to start churning out Shield consoles in Q2 and partners are expected to start producing phones and tablets based on the new chip at about the same time. This means we won’t see any products in retail before the latter half of Q2 at the earliest, while some might appear in Q3. As for 4G tablets using the Icera i500 modem, they are being certified by carriers as we speak and they should

Autore: AnandTech

We’re at NVIDIA’s GTC 2013 event where team green just updated their official roadmap and shared some more details about their Tegra portfolio, specifically additional information about Logan and Parker, the codename for the SoCs beyond Tegra 4. First up is Logan, which will be NVIDIA’s first SoC with CUDA inside, specifically courtesy a Kepler architecture GPU capable of CUDA 5.0 and OpenGL 4.3. There’s no details on the CPU side of things, but we’re told to expect Logan demos (and samples) inside 2013 and production inside devices early 2014.

After Logan is Parker,

Boosting NV’s non-PC revenue

Trefis beancounters believe Nvidia’s Tegra business is likely to grow over the next few years, although Nvidia won’t become a mobile chip company anytime soon.

In a note published a couple of days ago, Trefis concluded that Nvidia has managed to offset the impact of the PC slump thanks to mobile revenue. The PC market took a massive hit in 2012, and although things are looking up, Tegra could still come in handy.

Nvidia currently earns about 18 percent of its revenue from Tegra processors, which is not bad for a product that

Kernel Linux 3.8: maggiore supporto a Exynos e Tegra in arrivo in Android

Autore: Hardware Upgrade RSS

Nvidia sacrificed console deals for Tegra

Autore: Welcome to Fudzilla

Didn’t have engineers to spare

Getting a console deal is great. People talk about you outside your usual graphics environment, and you make a stronger name in the game developer world, but not much money. Selling chips to Sony and Microsoft for their consoles can make you some money but definitely not billions.

By now you should be aware that AMD won all three major console deals and two of these deals are already public. Nintendo Wii U uses AMD graphics chip while PlayStation 4 uses AMDs Temash based APU that has both CPU and graphics inside. Temash is
