Available in limited quantities for US $ 379/€419
Powercolor has announced that its external graphics card enclosure, known as the Devil Box, is now available in both the US and Europe, priced at US $ 379/€419.
In case you missed it back when it was announced, the Devil Box is based on AMD’s XConnect Technology and uses Thunderbolt 3 40Gbps interface. It supports PCI-Express x16 graphics cards with up to 375W TDP and maximum dimensions of 310x140x50mm, which means it should be compatible with most graphics cards available including AMD’s latest RX 400 series, R9 Fury series, R9 Nano and R9 300 series.
The compatibility list also includes a wide range of Nvidia Geforce graphics cards, including GTX Titan X, GTX 980 Ti and any other Geforce 900 series graphics cards but lacks any of the latest GTX 10-series cards, although we do not see why these won’t work either.
The rest of the features include Gigabit Ethernet, four USB 3.0 and a SATA 6Gbps port, which should allow users to add a 2.5-inch HDD or SSD to the system.
Powercolor says that the Devil Box will be available at Newegg.com in the US, Overclockers.co.uk in the UK and Mindfactory.de in Germany as well as some other retailers/e-tailers.
There are also a couple of bundle options, which include the Devil Box, RX 480 Red Devil and Razor for US $ 699.
