Unigine releases new Superposition benchmark

Unigine, mostly known for its Valley and Heaven benchmarks, has released its latest GPU benchmark, the Superposition.

Based on the Unigine 2 engine, the benchmark is currently compatible with OpenGL 4.5 and DirectX 11, mostly due to the fact that the engine still lacks support for Vulkan or DirectX 12 APIs. The benchmark itself uses unique “Screen-Space Ray-Tracing Global Illumination” that provides better light and shadow rendering.

Supporting both Windows and Linux OSes, the new Unigine Superposition benchmark offers plenty of ways to push the GPU to its knees, including different presets with scalable quality settings – ranging from 720p to 8K resolution – stress testing, as well as the special VR mode with support for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive VR headsets. The benchmark even has an interactive mode, which offers some mini-games.

The basic version of the Superposition is available for free download over at Unigine’s website, while an advanced version with VR support and a loop stress test is available for US $ 19.95. There is also a Professional Edition for commercial use which offers command-line support, an ability to export reports, technical support and per-frame analysis.
