Ferne McCann breaks down in tears in emotional This Morning interview: ‘This isn’t how I imagined my pregnancy to be’

Ferne McCann has returned to This Morning for the first time since news of her pregnancy broke and it was hugely emotional.

The former TOWIE star is having a baby by ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins, who has been charged with 15 offences relating to an acid attack in a London club last month, and broke down in tears as she discussed becoming a single mum.

‘This isn’t how I imagined my first pregnancy to be,’ Ferne, 26, told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. ‘But it’s not about me, it’s not about what’s happened. It’s about this baby. My main concern and priority is the baby.’

She went on to discuss her fears over how the public would react to everything that’s happened and started to become even more emotional as she said: ‘It was a concern for me.

‘I thought “are the public gonna judge me, are they going to have an opinion?”

‘I didn’t need to worry, the public have been so amazing and supportive. That’s what’s got me through. Reading through the private messages on Instagram has been so touching and humbling.

‘That is what I’m so grateful for, everyone’s words, from single mothers, single fathers, people who have followed my career to people who have never seen me on TV.’

Ferne broke down as she spoke about this, prompting Phillip to pause the chat to ask if she was okay whilst Holly hugged her and sat beside her on the sofa.

The TV star admits she was in shock when she found out that she was expecting and found it hard to believe until she saw her unborn child at the first scan.

Unfortunately, along with having the ‘stressful and surreal’ situation she’s found herself in to deal with, Ferne has also been suffering from unpleasant symptoms including ‘nausea, crazy headaches and vomiting’.

Thankfully she thinks she’s come through the worst of that and is now feeling good. She’s also planning to keep the sex a surprise until the baby’s birth.

Despite clearly feeling emotional at the difficulties she might face as well as everything that’s already happened, Ferne is excited at taking on motherhood

‘I love a challenge as you know. I think this is going to be the biggest one to date but I am so looking forward to it,’ she explained.

‘I can’t wait to meet my baby. The future for me, I’m not going to say it’s going to be easy but I just want to be the best possible mum I can be.’

Ferne’s powerful interview sparked some touching words of support on social media, with fans praising her bravery.

‘Thisis very upsetting, she has no reason to be judged. You have plenty support Ferne stay strong,’ one Twitter user wrote.

Another added: ‘Ferne McCann, a remarkable brave lady. Hold your head up high with pride. You are going to be a wonderful mummy’
