CONFIRMED! THIS GMB star announced for Dancing On Ice – see who else is set to join the show!

Dancing On Ice is officially coming back to our screens in 2018 and now the anticipation has gone up a notch as another celebrity has been CONFIRMED for the show!

And now we can reveal Good Morning Britain weather man, Alex Beresford has been announced as the eighth star to be joining the line-up.

The exclusive announcement was made on Friday’s GMB when Alex gave viewers a glimpse of what’s to come as he took to the ice rink at the National History Museum.

Getting his skates on while holding onto a penguin, Alex told Kate Garraway and Ben Shepard he’d always wanted to do the show.

The 35-year-old said: ‘This is a great opportunity to keep myself fit and motivated and try a different sport. I’m looking forward to it, it’s going to be very exciting.’

Alex is one of 12 celebrities who will take to the ice as part of the revamped show, which is returning to ITV nearly four years after it was brought to an end.

Former mentors Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean will join the judging panel alongside Jason Gardiner and another judge – but which other stars will be getting their skates on?

England cricketer, Monty was previously linked to the show in early October and he officially announced the news during an interview on BBC Radio 5 Live.

The sports star said: ‘This is a great opportunity to keep myself fit and motivated and try a different sport,’  he said. ‘I’m looking forward to it, it’s going to be very exciting.’

Former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and The X Factor star, Jake announced he was joining the show on Wednesday morning’s Lorraine.

The hunky star told viewers: ‘I feel so lucky that I’ve been asked to do it. I’m more worried about injuring my partner. The last thing I want to do is kick someone in the face with ice skates on.’

He added: ‘But I’m more worried about Jason Gardiner.’

The 2016 Great British Bake Off  winner will be swapping the heat of the kitchen for the chill of the ice rink as the news was confirmed when she appeared on BBC Radio Two’s Chris Evans Show.

Candice said: ‘It’s nerve wracking. I start my training today. I take my first steps on the ice later on. My friends call me Bambi on Ice and that’s just normal day to day!’

Rugby player Max is following in brother Thom Evans’ footsteps it seems by joining the line-up – Thom was previously a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.

The sports star – who has played for Scotland – said: ‘I haven’t done any skating since I was a kid, and this is completely different having to skate on live television. I’ve had two training sessions which have hurt my feet a lot. We’ve all had a dance, which is familiar territory, but skating is so not…’

Kem Cetinay shot to fame this summer on ITV2’s Love Island where he was crowned champion next to girlfriend, Amber Davies and has since released his own single ‘Little Bit Leave It’ with BFF Chris Hughes.

But the 21-year-old will be putting on his skates after the official Dancing On Ice Twitter page announced the news with a message reading: ‘Yes! @KemCetinay is 100% our type on ice. Welcome to #DancingOnIce!’

Bucks Fizz singer Cheryl Baker announced she was joining the line-up while appearing on Lorraine on Tuesday morning and we’re SO excited.

The 63-year-old former Eurovision winner has admitted just how scared she was starting to feel, telling Lorraine: ‘I wasn’t feeling nervous because I didn’t know what to expect.

‘But as of yesterday I am feeling nervous but it was hard because they were giving me all these things to do, all these movements and I was like “I can’t do that!”.’

Coronation Street star Brooke revealed she was joining also on the show during a live appearance on This Morning with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

‘I love a challenge. Ice skating – what an amazing skill,’ Brooke, 25, told the hosts.

‘Next year I can go with the girls and be like “I can do this, I can do that” and they’ll be holding onto the sides.’
