Manyelo is a prominent artist back home and is now making moves over in Europe after more than a decade in the game. In that time, his organic house tunes have landed on Sound Pellegrino and Herbal 3 Records as well as on the Africa Gets Physical compilation with a track that became a firm favourite of Dixon and Damian Lazarus. 2018 saw the release of his superb ‘Body Language compilation, then came his ‘Sizwe EP’ and now he follows it up with another impressive outing. Enthralling opener ‘Patong’ is a high pressure track with intense synth lines, layers of drums, percussion and rumbling bass all keeping you on edge as it rattles along. Tortured vocals are lost in the middle of it all for an extra sense of drama. The unique ‘Ujamaa’ sees Manyelo join forces with Dafro to showcase their excellent drum programming abilities, with jacking afro patterns and thick bass twangs getting you on your toes while the synths add a sense of spirituality. Last of all, ‘Sala’ is a progressive masterpiece with stepping synths taking you ever higher. Their cosmic intentions marry with the rubbery, deep rooted drums for a mini epic that will standout in any set.
