How to watch NFL Week 13 in the US

If you don’t want to subscribe to a live TV streaming service, you can watch the CBS games with Paramount Plus, the Fox games with Fox One and the NBC games with Peacock.

Fox

Fox’s new direct-to-consumer streaming service costs $20 a month or $200 a year and lets NFL fans watch their local Sunday afternoon games on Fox. You’ll also get access to Fox’s complete TV portfolio, including sports-related channels such as Fox Sports, B1G, FS1, FS2 and local Fox stations.

James Martin/CNET

With Peacock’s $11-per-month Premium plan, you can watch tonight’s game and every Sunday Night Football game this season. Read our Peacock review.

DirecTV

DirecTV’s MySports plan costs $70 a month and includes ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and NFL Network, which are the main channels you need to watch NFL games on Thursday, Sunday and Monday each week of the season. You can’t get the RedZone add-on with the MySports plan but will need to subscribe to the full $85-a-month package and then add RedZone for an extra $15 a month.

You can use DirecTV’s channel lookup tool to see which local channels are available where you live. Read our DirecTV review.

Sarah Tew/CNET

YouTube TV carries all of the channels needed to watch the NFL and costs $83 a month, and you can add RedZone for an extra $11 per month.

YouTube TV is also the exclusive home to NFL Sunday Ticket. But note that Sunday Ticket doesn’t include local games. You can only watch Sunday afternoon games that aren’t being broadcast on CBS or Fox in your area. If you want to watch all the football on Sundays you’ll need Sunday Ticket plus a YouTube TV subscription (or just get Sunday Ticket and then use an antenna for local games).

Plug in your ZIP code on YouTube TV’s welcome page to see which local networks are available in your area.

Fubo

Fubo’s main package costs $85 per month and includes ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and NFL Network. You can also add RedZone for an extra $11 per month.

Fubo has a new skinny bundle that includes most of the channels you need for the NFL. This new Fubo Sports plan costs $56 per month ($46 for the first month) and includes all of the above channels except NBC for Sunday Night Football. It also includes access to ESPN’s new streaming app. It’s worth noting that the bundle is only available in certain regions at the moment, with a gradual rollout across the country.

  • Before a Soyuz launch Thursday someone forgot to secure a 20-ton service platform

A Soyuz rocket launched on Thursday carrying Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergei Kud-Sverchkov and Sergei Mikayev, as well as NASA astronaut Christopher Williams, for an eight-month mission to the International Space Station. The trio of astronauts arrived at the orbiting laboratory without incident.

However, on the ground, there was a serious problem during the launch with the ground systems that support processing of the vehicle before liftoff at Site 31, located at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

In a terse statement issued Thursday night on the social media site Telegram, the Russian space corporation that operates Soyuz appeared to downplay the incident: “The launch pad was inspected, as is done every time a rocket is launched. Damage to several launch pad components was identified. Damage can occur after launch, so such inspections are mandatory worldwide. The launch pad’s condition is currently being assessed.”

  • Jack White and Eminem Unite for Halftime Show at Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Game: Watch

Two Detroiters tried (but failed) to will their hometown Lions to victory during the NFL team’s annual Thanksgiving Day game. Jack White opened his halftime show performance with “That’s How I’m Feeling,” from last year’s No Name, before bringing out Eminem for a mashup of the White Stripes’ “Hello Operator” and the rapper’s Eminem Show cut “’Till I Collapse.” Inevitably, the performance concluded with Elephant’s “Seven Nation Army.” Watch a replay below and on YouTube. The show has also been uploaded, as an EP, to streaming services; scroll down to listen.

It should maybe not be a surprise that Eminem showed up for White’s performance, as the rapper and his manager and Shady Records co-founder Paul Rosenberg are the executive producers of the halftime show, along with Jesse Collins Entertainment. Eminem and Rosenberg will help with the Lions’ Thanksgiving halftime production through 2027.

The Detroit Lions play annually on Thanksgiving and, despite their success in recent seasons, they lose more often than they win, and that was the case yesterday, as the team fell to the rival Green Bay Packers. Last year, however, the Lions defeated the Chicago Bears in a game that featured a halftime performance from Shaboozey.

  • DETROIT — Even coach Dan Campbell could admit after the Detroit Lions‘ 31-24 Thanksgiving Day loss to the Green Bay Packers that “we’ve dug ourselves a little bit of a hole” at 7-5.

Campbell was honest in his overall assessment of the group as he addressed the team inside the locker room at Ford Field with their chances of winning the NFC North for a third consecutive season now being significantly slim.

“Like I told the team, ‘It’s frustrating, I know. We’ve got a lot to be thankful for even after a loss.’ And look, we’ve dug ourselves a little bit of a hole, that’s the bottom line,” Campbell said. “We are in a little bit of a hole, but that’s just what it is. There’s nothing more than that.

“So all we’ve got to do is worry about cleaning up this and then getting to the next game and finding a way to win the next one in front of us.”

Detroit is now 1-8 in their past nine games on Thanksgiving.

Entering the contest, the Lions were also dealing with key injuries to tight ends Sam LaPorta and Brock Wright in addition to wide receiver Kalif Raymond and starting center Graham Glasgow on offense. Then All-Pro receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown left the game in the first quarter with an ankle injury and did not return.

Campbell thinks St. Brown could miss a week or two.

Without St. Brown, practice squad veteran Tom Kennedy stepped up to make plays on offense and special teams. Kennedy, who was signed to the Lions’ active roster from the practice squad on Wednesday night, finished with four catches for 36 yards.

Rookie Isaac TeSlaa also had his third receiving touchdown this season (and fifth reception overall) on a 17-yard grab from QB Jared Goff with 7:25 left in the third quarter to cut the Lions’ deficit to 24-21.

TeSlaa, a native of Hudsonville, Michigan, was a lifelong Lions fan and is currently in his rookie season as a wide receiver out of Arkansas.

However, it was fourth-year receiver Jameson Williams who carried the Lions’ offense with a career-high seven receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown.

Goff made it a point to target Williams and knew he would have a big day, especially while being undermanned. But he wasn’t proud of his incomplete short pass to Williams on fourth-and-3 with 10:55 left in the fourth quarter, when the Lions were trying to close the gap, down 31-21.

“I’ve got to connect with Jamo there on the one down in the red zone,” said Goff, who completed 20 of 26 passes with two touchdowns. “I’ve got to give him a better throw, and he makes the catch. He might score right there, and the drive might be over. That’s the one that will hurt me for a while. Then, yeah, they can rip it on their fourth downs and tip your cap. I thought they played really well.”

Detroit failed on fourth down conversions twice against the Packers and is now 0-for-7 on fourth downs since Week 11, which is tied for the most attempts in the league, and by far the most attempts without a conversion (the Jets are the next closest at 0-3), per ESPN Research.

Campbell took over playcalling duties from offensive coordinator John Morton in Week 10 and feels he “can always be better” in that role.

Detroit entered the Thanksgiving Day game averaging 29.6 points per game but have now lost four of its past seven games for the first time since the 2022 season.

“Ultimately, look, we didn’t win the game. But as far as the way that I wanted to play that game offensively, that was the vision I had for it,” Campbell said. “We just got to convert.

“Those first two series that we had, we’ve got to find a way to convert on third [down] and then the fourth downs. So you’re talking about two or three plays, ultimately, against a good team, in that moment that made the difference.”
