There may not be a safe off-ramp for some taking GLP-1 drugs, study suggests

    November 25, 2025
    Hardware

The popularity of GLP-1 weight-loss medications continues to soar—and their uptake is helping to push down obesity rates on a national scale—but a safe, evidence-based way off the drugs isn’t yet in clear view.

An analysis published this week in JAMA Internal Medicine found that most participants in a clinical trial who were assigned to stop taking tirzepatide (Zepbound from Eli Lilly) not only regained significant amounts of the weight they had lost on the drug, but they also saw their cardiovascular and metabolic improvements slip away. Their blood pressure went back up, as did their cholesterol, hemoglobin A1c (used to assess glucose control levels), and fasting insulin.

In an accompanying editorial, two medical experts at the University of Pittsburgh, Elizabeth Oczypok and Timothy Anderson, suggest that this new class of drugs should be rebranded from “weight loss” drugs to “weight management” drugs, which people may need to take indefinitely.

Get a leg up on the competition with Razer's Huntsman V3 Pro TKL keyboard, now on sale for just $148 — score a 33% discount on one of the best analog gaming keyboards around

    November 25, 2025
    Hardware

Right now, you can get Razer’s Huntsman V3 Pro TKL for just $147.99 on Amazon — a $72 discount off its list price.

There’s a lot of misinformation out there about what actually constitutes a competitive advantage in gaming. However, one upgrade that can actually make a difference is an analog keyboard, which lends you faster response times and variable actuation features. While Hall-effect (magnetic) switches are typical here, optical switches can be just as effective, and we’ve found a great deal on that tech.

Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL: was $219.99 now $147.99 at Amazon

If you’re looking for a solid gaming keyboard that can give you a genuine leg-up across the board, look no further than the V3 Huntsman Pro. It’s built like a tank, looks clean, and performs like a true flagship product in every way. Now, it can be yours for even less, making this a no-brainer upgrade.

    View Deal

As the same suggests, this is the TKL version of the Huntsman V3 Pro, featuring a tenkeyless layout perfect for gaming setups where mouse space is crucial. The board has a mixed aluminium and plastic construction that feels solid, along with an understated design that can scream with per-key RGB only if you want it to. It comes with a wrist rest as well. You get an indicator LED cluster as well, along with premium double-shot PBT keycaps.

The real magic happens on the inside with Razer’s Gen 2 Optical Analog Switches, which use light sensing to detect input signals, enabling ultra-fast actuation. You can also set your own custom actuation point such that the key only registers if it’s pressed past a certain point. This tech also enables Razer’s Rapid Trigger feature, which allows the key to reset right as it starts to travel back instead of relying on a fixed reset point. This allows for perfect spamming in intense situations.

The Huntsman V3 Pro also supports Snap Tap, also known as Snappy Rappy in Wooting keyboards. Snap Tap implements an automatic Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Directions input method, letting you rapidly and effortlessly alternate between two inputs depending on which one was pressed last. Imagine you have your fingers on the A and D key and you’re trying to move left and right quickly to avoid being hit. Snap Tap will let you perfectly strafe (or counter-strafe).

All of these features and many more are configurable through Razer’s Synapse software. In our original review, we gave the Huntsman V3 Pro 4.5 stars, making it one of the best gaming keyboards in the market. It has since been succeeded by Razer’s own Huntsman V4, but for the $147.99 discounted price, the Huntsman V3 Pro is a solid alternative to Wooting and still remains a great peripheral nonetheless.

Plex’s crackdown on free remote streaming access starts this week

    November 25, 2025
    Hardware

Plex is starting to enforce its new rules, which prevent users from remotely accessing a personal media server without a subscription fee.

Previously, people outside of a server owner’s network could access the owner’s media library through Plex for free. Under the new rules announced in March, a server owner needs to have a Plex Pass subscription, which starts at $7 per month, to grant users remote access to their server. Alternatively, someone can remotely access another person’s Plex server by buying their own Plex Pass or a Remote Watch Pass, which is a subscription with fewer features than a Plex Pass and that Plex started selling in April for a $2/month starting price.

Plex’s new rules took effect on April 29. According to a recent Plex forums post by a Plex employee that How-To Geek spotted today, the changes are rolling out this week, with a subscription being required for people using Plex’s Roku OS app for remote access. The Plex employee added:

A Sculpture Made of Tens of Thousands of Aluminum Facets Writhes in a Knoxville Park

A vibrant new pavilion rises to meet the square’s picturesque trees in Cradle of Country Music Park in Knoxville, Tennessee, connecting the city’s Old Town and its theater district. Made from tens of thousands of individual pieces of painted aluminum, the vivid “Pier 865” provides both a resting place and a vantage point in a reinvigorated public square.

The reptilian sculpture is the work of Marc Fornes / THEVERYMANY, continuing the designer’s interest in high-tech, large-scale installations that involve meticulously assembled elements. Conceived digitally, the structure has a bold, futuristic quality that looks exactly like a 3D model made real—one can imagine its pixel-like pieces puzzling together in a computer program.

The pavilion is painted in greenish gradients in a nod to its surrounding trees. “Its organic shape brings to mind different life forms from different angles: from ground level, the sculpture suggests alien flora growing from the concrete—but viewed from the sky, a tensile, reptilian form reveals itself,” a statement says.

  • GPU prices are coming to earth just as RAM costs shoot into the stratosphere

GPU prices are coming to earth just as RAM costs shoot into the stratosphere

    November 25, 2025
    Hardware

It’s not a bad time to upgrade your gaming PC. Graphics card prices in the 2020s have undulated continuously as the industry has dealt with pandemic and AI-related shortages, but it’s actually possible to get respectable mainstream- to high-end GPUs like AMD’s Radeon RX 9060 XT and 9070 series or Nvidia’s RTX 5060, 5070, and 5080 series for at or slightly under their suggested retail prices right now. This was close to impossible through the spring and summer.

But it’s not a good time to build a new PC or swap your older motherboard out for a new one that needs DDR5 RAM. And the culprit is a shortage of RAM and flash memory chips that has suddenly sent SSD and (especially) memory prices into the stratosphere, caused primarily by the ongoing AI boom and exacerbated by panic-fueled buying by end users and device manufacturers.

To illustrate just how high things have jumped in a short amount of time, let’s compare some of the RAM and storage prices listed in our system guide from three months ago to the pricing for the exact same components today. Note that several of these are based on the last available price and are currently sold out; we also haven’t looked into things like microSD or microSD Express cards, which could also be affected.

  • Best Black Friday robot lawn mower deals

Best Black Friday robot lawn mower deals

    November 25, 2025
    Hardware

The robot lawn mower has gone from an extremely niche product to approaching mainstream acceptance over the past couple of years, especially among homeowners with larg yards to maintain. But much of this growth in sales has to do with prices, as entry-level models have dropped to less than $1,000.

Since fewer people shop for lawn mowers as winter approaches, manufacturers have been offering significant discounts to spur sales, and Black Friday is putting that effort into overdrive. We’ve even seen one model priced less than $300—that’s about the same price as a push mower!

That model won’t be suitable for every yard, of course, but we’ve spotted lots of other deals, which we’ve organized below into three groups: Budget, mid-range, and high-end. For each deal, we include the size of lawn the mower is capable of handling, along with the navigation tech it uses: vision, real-time kinetics (RTK), or GPS (read our guide on how robot mowers navigate for more information).

    • Yardcare V100 Robotic Lawn Mower (vision, 0.2 acres) $299.99 at Amazon (40% off)
    • Yardcare M800 Plus (GPS/vision, .5 acres) $592.79 at Amazon (26% off)
    • Mammotion Yuka Mini 500H Robotic Lawn Mower (RTK/vision, 0.12 acres) $649.00 at Amazon (35% off)
    • Segway Navimow i105n (GPS/Vision, .16 acres) $699.00 at Amazon (30% off)
    • Ecovacs Goat O1000 RTK Robot Lawn Mower (RTK, .25 acres) $799.99 at Amazon (20% off)

My top pick: The $300 Yardcare V100 is one of the lowest prices I’ve seen for a robot lawn mower. That said, I think most people would be best served by the more robust Segway Navimow i105n.

Black Friday mid-range robot lawn mower deals

    • Segway Navimow i110n (GPS/vision, .25 acres) $909.00 at Amazon (30% off)
    • Mammotion Luba mini AWD 800 (RTK/Vision, .2 acres) $1,199.00 at Amazon (25% off)
    • Mammotion Yuka 2000 (RTK/Vision, .5 acres) $1,299.00 at Amazon (28% off)
    • Eufy E15 Robot Lawn Mower (vision, 0.2 acres) $1,299.99 at Amazon (43% off)
    • Eufy E18 Robot Lawn Mower (vision, 0.3 acres) $1,499.99 at Amazon (42% off)

My top pick: Of the mid-range robot mowers on sale for Black Friday, the Segway Navimow i110n and the Eufy E15 and E18 are particularly good deals (the only difference between those two Eufy models is the size of their batteries). I’ve personally tested all three mowers and can recommend them without hesitation.

Black Friday deals on high-end robot lawn mowers

If you have a large yard, each of these higher-end robot mowers is a great deal.

    • Ecovacs Goat A3000 Dual LiDAR Robot Lawn Mower (vision, 0.75 acres) $2,099.99 at Amazon (30% off)
    • Husqvarna 410iQ Automower Robotic Mower (EPOS/GPS, .5 acre) $2,099.99 at Amazon (30% off)
    • Husqvarna 420iQ Automower Robotic Mower (EPOS/GPS, 1 acre) $2,449.99 at Amazon (30% off)
    • Husqvarna 440iQ Automower Robotic Mower (EPOS/GPS, 2 acres) $3,999.99 at Amazon (30% off)
    • Yarbo Core + Lawnmower $3,999.00 at Amazon (20% off)
    • Yarbo Core + Snowblower + Lawnmower (up to 6 acres) $4,953.00 at Amazon (20% off)

Yarbo’s offering is unique in that it consists of a motorized core unit to which you can attach separate modules for different tasks. There’s a mower unit, of course, but also a snow blower, a leaf blower, a snow plow blade, and a trailer hitch.

    FAQ

    1.

    When is Black Friday?

Black Friday officially starts Friday, November 28 (the day after the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S.). But retailers are increasingly reluctant to wait that long for the shopping event to start, and you can see from the lists above that there are already some great deals to be had. If you see one that’s tempting, you might want to snag it now in case stocks disappear.

    2.

What is Cyber Monday? And when is it?

Retailers created Cyber Monday as a shopping holiday to spur online sales immediately after Thanksgiving. Many of the deals offered on Black Friday are carried over to Cyber Monday, but some are exclusive to that day. This year, Cyber Monday will be December 2.

    3.

Which robot lawn mowers does TechHive rate the highest?

We were one of the first publications to cover the robot lawn mower market in depth. The best mower for your situation will depend on the size and complexity of your yard. Our guide to the best robot lawn mowers names our top picks and includes a comprehensive buyers’ guide to help you determine what you need.

    4.

Do you need to be an Amazon Prime member to get Black Friday deals?

Amazon isn’t the only retailer sponsoring Black Friday sales. Everybody is in the game, from Best Buy to Home Depot. Also, this isn’t one of Amazon’s Prime Day sales, so you don’t need to subscribe to Amazon Prime to get the deals Amazon is offering. That said, if you do buy from Amazon, a Prime membership will entitle you to free shipping and access to Amazon Prime Video (including Thursday Night Football), Amazon Music, and Prime Gaming.

You can sign up for an Amazon Prime 30-day free trial if you want to give it a try.
