Nice, Norton 360 Premium is 82% off during Cyber Monday

December 1, 2025

Hardware

Windows 11 has reliable antivirus built-in, but it’s not always as user-friendly as independent security software. (Its minimalism can cross over into mysterious at times.) So if you want a friendlier interface and a boatload of more features, Cyber Monday is a great time for an upgrade—especially with this $25 deal on a 1-year subscription for Norton 360 Premium at Amazon.

Normally, a 1-year plan on Norton’s site costs $145—which means you get over 82 percent off with this deal. Even during Cyber Monday, this Amazon discount undercuts Norton’s own promotional price of $45 for the first year—almost by half.

Officially, this deal is also for new subscribers only.

Installing Norton 360 Premium on your PC will give you comprehensive coverage across all major aspects of online security. On your computer, it guards against threats like malware, ransomware, and network attacks, plus offers cloud storage as backup for your important files. It also helps safeguard your identity (and accounts) by offering a password manager, VPN access, and dark web monitoring. Parental controls are also included for protecting little ones. And just as important, the interfaces are easy to navigate.

For the full rundown on what it’s like to use Norton 360 Premium, check out our Norton 360 Deluxe review. The plans are essentially the same, except with Premium you get more covered devices and double the amount of cloud storage. And a fantastic upgrade at this price. Don’t miss out, as Cyber Monday ends in just hours!

The Nintendo Switch 2 got its first-ever discount during Cyber Monday

December 1, 2025

Hardware
The Nintendo Switch 2 is on sale for the first time at Walmart.

Plenty of Nintendo Switch games and Switch 2 accessories have gone on sale for Cyber Monday, but we didn’t expect Walmart or Amazon to offer the Mario Kart World bundle of the new console for $449.99 ($50 off). The game costs $79.99 on its own, and Nintendo’s limited-time bundle already saves you $30 compared to buying the console and game separately. Walmart’s discount effectively gets you the game for free while shaving a few bucks off the system’s price as well.
Nintendo Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 has a 7.9-inch LCD display, magnetically attached Joy-Con 2 controllers, backwards compatibility with most original Switch games, and exclusive titles including Donkey Kong Bananza and Kirby Air Riders. Read our review.

Where to Buy:
- ~~$499.99~~ $449.99 at Walmart (Mario Kart World bundle)
The Nintendo Switch 2 is the long-awaited follow-up to the popular original Switch, and it’s a welcome evolution rather than revolution. It has a 7.9-inch 1080p LCD screen, and includes a pair of magnetically attached Joy-Con 2 controllers, not to mention speedier chips and memory inside. It can play most original Nintendo Switch games, so you can port your digital or physical library without much fuss.

The system’s library is comprised of a growing number of exclusive titles, including Donkey Kong Bananza, Mario Kart World, and Kirby Air Riders. It also supports enhanced versions of original Nintendo Switch games, including Kirby and the Forgotten Land Plus Star Crossed World, and plenty of games being released for the original Switch. The Cyber Monday deal is especially notable since the next big Switch and Switch 2 game, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, comes out this week. Read our review.

Update, December 1st, 1:45PM ET: Amazon is also offering the deal on the Mario Kart World console bundle, so we’ve added in a shopping link.

Cyber Monday Apple deals start now: AirPods Pro 3 are $30 off and down to a record low

December 1, 2025

Hardware

Apple’s new AirPods Pro 3 are already shaping up to be one of the most sought-after tech gifts this season, and now you can grab them at a lower price. They’re on sale for $220, down from the regular $249. Previously, the lowest we’ve seen the AirPods Pro 3 discounted to is $239. If you’ve been holding off on upgrading your earbuds, this is the deal worth grabbing.

Apple didn’t reinvent its flagship earbuds with the AirPods Pro 3, but it made smart refinements that elevate nearly every part of the listening experience. We praised these earbuds in our AirPods Pro 3 review for delivering noticeably richer audio and more effective active noise cancellation while keeping the same pocketable form factor that made earlier models so popular.

The standout upgrade here is Apple’s Live Translation feature, which was an unexpected but welcome surprise, announced at the iPhone 17 event. Leveraging Apple’s H2 chip, the AirPods Pro 3 combines Voice Isolation, ANC and beamforming mics to kick Live Translation into action. Siri’s translation filters seamlessly through the earbuds, but if environmental noise gets too intrusive, you can view a real-time transcription in the iOS Translate app, which is a useful feature for international travel and business calls.

Battery life has improved, too. You get up to eight hours on a single charge with ANC on, and the case adds another 24 hours of playback. The MagSafe charging case, with its new U2 chip, now supports an increased distance for Precision Find My, so it’s easier to locate if misplaced.

Since we’re talking about earbuds, audio quality plays a key role in deciding whether to purchase the AirPods Pro 3 or upgrade from a previous model. Although improvements have been made to sound quality through new drivers and transducers, Apple’s decision to increase air flow inside the earbuds has been the most noticeable update. You can expect the AirPods Pro 3 to deliver deeper bass, crisper highs, and an expanded soundstage that makes everything from podcasts to orchestral tracks feel more dynamic.

There’s not much to fault here beyond the familiar Apple premium price, but that’s why this AirPods Pro 3 deal is such good news. The AirPods Pro 3 remain the best wireless earbuds for iPhone users who want seamless connectivity, top-tier ANC and reliable comfort. Elsewhere when it comes to Cyber Monday AirPod deals, the AirPods 4 with ANC are down to $99.

Catanzaro, da De Nobili: ancora disastro acqua, da Nord a Sud, come ogni giorno ormai e Giro d’Italia

December 1, 2025

Italy

Riceviamo e pubblichiamo

Tomohiro Okazaki’s ‘Paper Study’ Transforms a Quotidian Material into Mesmerizing Animations

December 1, 2025

Design

From pieces of everyday white paper, a series of delightful stop-motion animations illuminates how a simple material can be transformed into a sophisticated design. Created by Japenese designer Tomohiro Okazaki, who runs a studio called SWIMMING, “Paper Study” is a series of short intervals in which pieces of cut, folded, and sculpted paper appears to move on its own. Flat sheets transform into voluminous structures before collapsing back into a single plane, and arches, circles, and myriad other shapes move in sync.

Okazaki is known for his playful optical animations using matches and other household objects. See more on SWIMMING’s YouTube channel and the designer’s website.

Space CEO explains why he believes private space stations are a viable business

December 1, 2025

Hardware

It’s a critical time for companies competing to develop a commercial successor to the International Space Station. NASA is working with several companies, including Axiom Space, Voyager Technologies, Blue Origin, and Vast, to develop concepts for private stations where it can lease time for its astronauts.

The space agency awarded Phase One contracts several years ago and is now in the final stages of writing requirements for Phase Two after asking for feedback from industry partners in September. This program is known as Commercial LEO Destinations, or CLDs in industry parlance.

Time is running out for NASA if it wants to establish continuity from the International Space Station, which will reach its end of life in 2030, with a follow-on station ready to go before then.

Prevent a page from scrolling while a dialog is open

December 1, 2025

Software
Bramus:

Chrome 144 features a small change to overscroll-behavior: it now also works on non-scrollable scroll containers. While this change might seem trivial, it fixes an issue developers have been dealing with for ages: prevent a page from scrolling while a (modal) <dialog> is open.

YES! Way back in 2019, I worked on “Prevent Page Scrolling When a Modal is Open” with Brad Wu about this exact thing. Apparently this was mere months before we got our hands on the true HTML <dialog> element. In any case, you can see the trouble with active scrolling when a “dialog” is open:

CodePen Embed Fallback

The problem is that the dialog itself is not a scroll container. If it was, we could slap overscroll-behavior: contain on it and be done with it. Brad demoed his solution that involved a JavaScript-y approach that sets the <body> to fixed positioning when the dialog is in an open state:

CodePen Embed Fallback

That’s the tweak Bramus is talking about. In Chrome 144, that’s no longer the case. Going back to that first demo, we can do a couple of things to avoid all the JS mumbo-jumbo.

First, we declare overscroll-behavior on both the dialog element and the backdrop and set it to contain:
```
body { overscroll-behavior: contain; } #dialog { overscroll-behavior: contain; }
```
You’d think that would do it, but there’s a super key final step. That dialog needs to be a scroll container, which we can do explicitly:
```
#dialog { overscroll-behavior: contain; overflow: hidden; }
```
Chrome 144 needed, of course:

CodePen Embed Fallback

The demo that Bramus provided is much, much better as it deals with the actual HTML <dialog> element and its ::backdrop:

CodePen Embed Fallback
