Over the past few weeks, we’ve been stuck to our seats as the new competitors of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing are steadily announced.

Greg Rutherford
Olympian Greg is very used to sporting success, as he’s fresh from winning a well-earned bronze in Rio, adding to his gold medal in London, back in 2012.
‘I’m terrified about this!’ Greg admitted during the live reveal on Monday’s (22nd August) edition of The One Show. ‘I’ve never danced a step in my life!
However, it was then shown that that wasn’t exactly true: as just 47 short weeks ago, Greg posted THIS on Instagram:
‘Strictly whaaaaaaaat!?’ he asked, while pulling out some questionable dance moves. And clearly, Strictly responded! But it looks as if he’s going to be a tough critic of himself – for one, he called his feat of competing in three Olympic games ‘okay’. Just okay, Greg?!

Tameka Empson
Though she’s much better known as Kim Fox on EastEnders, Tameka is ready to get foxy on the dancefloor as another of Strictly’s celebs!
‘It’s just been so hard to keep this a secret!’ she exclaimed as the big news was finally announced. ‘I’ve been avoiding telephone calls and group conversations…phew!’
Though she was a strong contestant on similar dance show Let’s Dance in 2012, Tameka thinks that ballroom will be her biggest challenge. But since she’s shown that she’s able to pick up some serious Lady Gaga choreography, we reckon she’ll have no trouble!
Lesley Joseph
The Birds of a Feather legend concludes the all-star line-up for this year’s show, and she’s also proved her dance abilities in the past by her performance in Let’s Dance – but upon reminder of that, Lesley was less than impressed:
‘I look like a big green blob!’ We disagree, Lady Joseph!
Though she respects all the male professional dancers, it seems as if she’s got her fingers crossed to be partnered with Kevin Clifton:
‘I think they’re all fantastic and I’m leaving myself in the hands of the producers. I like Kevin!
‘The anticipation of it is the most frightening thing, but I know that when it begins, it’ll take over my life!’
Greg, Tameka and Lesley join Ed Balls, Laura Whitmore, Ore Oduba, Melvin Odoom, Louise Redknapp, Danny Mac, Daisy Lowe, Naga Munchetty, Claudia Fragapane, Judge Rinder, Anastacia and Will Young.
