Meet the Predator 21 X
There were a couple of rumors that Acer might be breaking the size limit of gaming notebooks and at IFA 2016 show in Berlin, it has unveiled its newest Predator 21 X gaming notebook, which is the world’s first 21-inch gaming notebook with a curved screen.
Built around, or attached to a 21-inch 2200R curved screen with IPS 2560×1080 resolution panel, the Predator 21 X should pack more performance punch than any other gaming notebook on the market, with yet to be detailed Intel 7th generation Core i7 Kaby Lake CPU, two Geforce GTX 1080 graphics cards in SLI and plenty of other high-end specifications.
The rest of the specifications include up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM, up to 4TB of SSD storage, high-end SoundPound 4.2+ sound system with four speakers and 2 subwoofers, a full-size mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX switches and customizable backlight settings and a numpad that converts to Precision Touchpad.
Acer also added Nvidia G-Sync support to the display and notebook apparently comes with Tobii eye-tracking technology, same as Acer’s recently unveiled Predator gaming monitors.
In order to cool down two GTX 1080 GPUs and Intel’s high-end Core i7 Kaby Lake CPU, Acer implemented “an advanced cooling architecture” with a total of five fans, three of which uses special AeroBlade metal blower-style fans.
While the Acer Predator 21 X does qualify as notebook, due to its design, the sheer size and weight, which according to some sources tips the scale at 8kg, makes it less portable than some desktop systems, but at least the monitor comes attached to it.
Unfortunately, Acer did not reveal any details regarding the price or the availability date but we are quite sure we will hear more about it during IFA 2016 show as it will definitely be a star at Acer’s booth.
