New father Peter Andre opens up about his battle social anxiety

Peter Andre has taken to social media to share a heartfelt confession about his battle with social anxiety.

After watching Robbie Williams’ appearance on Loose Women, Pete took to his Twitter to share that he had shared similar experiences as the singer.

During Robbie’s appearance, he had openly discussed his experiences with anxiety. Earlier in the week, Robbie had shared to The Radio Times that he has had a bit of a ‘weird year’.

The singer explains that 2016 has, for him, been ‘troublesome and sad. Then I tried this anti-depressant and things have changed. The demons are quiet’.

This had resonated with new father Pete, who took to Twitter following Robbie’s TV appearance to share ‘Watching LW and the topic is ‘is social anxiety making you dread party season’? I never thought I would admit it but like @robbiewilliams I too suffer the same thing’.

Pete continues, ‘I guess I tend to Hide away sometimes and cancel social things. I don’t mean to. Random but I thought I’d tell you all. Thank you’.

Many fans have been quick to support Pete’s Tweet, with replies reading messages such as ‘Well done for owning it, more common than you think’ and ‘So many of us suffer with it. Well done for being honest x’.

We think it’s great that men like Robbie and Pete are making mental health a mainstream conversation.

Pete, who is married to Emily MacDonagh, has very recently become a father for the fourth time- having welcomed his new baby son into the world just last week!

Sharing the happy news on Twitter, Pete writes ‘Very very happy for our new baby boy’.

A spokesperson for Pete recently told The Sun that ‘Peter and Emily are both extremely happy. Both mother and baby are doing fine’.

Emily and Pete announced that they were expecting another baba back in May of this year, after welcoming their daughter Amelia back in January of 2014.
