Tom Ford trägt denselben Anzug immer und immer wieder. Der 55-jährige Modedesigner, der zehn Jahre Kreativchef bei ‚Gucci‘ war, bevor er seine eigene Marke gründete, gestand, dass er immer eine Art Uniform trägt, bestehend aus einem eleganten, maßgeschneiderten Anzug, den es in derselben Ausführung noch viele Male in seinem Schrank gibt.

Dem ‚Telegraph‘ verriet der Mode-Mogul und Filmemacher über seine Kleidung: „Ich trage denselben Anzug immer und immer und immer wieder. Ich habe wahrscheinlich ziemlich viele davon, aber sie sehen alle irgendwie gleich aus. Ich habe eine Uniform, das ist einfach. Ich stehe morgens auf und ziehe diese Uniform an.“ Erst kürzlich gründete der Fashionisto ein Filmunternehmen und schreckt auch nicht davor zurück, im Anzug am Set zu erscheinen.

Ford erzählte weiter: „Jemand fragte mich ‚Wirst du den Anzug auch am Filmset tragen?‘ Und ich sagte ‚Ja, das bin ich und so ziehe ich mich an.‘ Warum sollte ich meine Kleidung ändern? So finde ich es am angenehmsten. […] In der Modebranche macht man in zwei Monaten etwas komplett Neues, dann ist es einfach weg, es ist vorbei und du machst weiter. Aber ein Film bleibt für immer und ich glaube, deswegen gibt man dem ganzen eine gewisse Würde.“

Apple users want the Jack back

Turning to a case to solve the problem

While the fruity tax-dodging cargo cult thinks that it will make a killing by removing the headphone jack from its iPhone 7, it seems that there is a movement among fanboys to bring it back.

Diego Prince, a hardware developer from Austin, Texas has made a case which fits around the iPhone and provides it with the much needed headphone jack.
Controversially he said that Apple fanboys should have a choice what they put into their own ear holes.

“It is a very personal choice, and it’s a choice we should all get the chance to make — not one that should be made for us,” he said. Odd really we thought that people only bought Apple gear if they felt that a technology choice was too much for them and they wanted to outsource it to a big multi-national company which would get rich on the back of their ignorance.

Prince and his cofounder Troy Osinoff just launched an Indiegogo campaign, saying they plan to ship in December if the campaign reaches its goal. “Early Bird” backers can reserve one case for $ 49 plus shipping.

According to the campaign site, the Fuze takes the adapter dongle that Apple included with the iPhone 7 and builds it directly into the case, restoring the 3.5 mm headphone jack. It also has an extended battery pack and, as most cases should, protects the phone from damage if it’s dropped.

The battery pack would provide about extra eight hours of power, according to Prince.
The idea is getting cheered by fan-boys so it might actually have legs.

Prince is trying to raise $ 60,000 in the next month for Fuze, which he says will be spent on prototyping, testing, and shipping, with the goal of getting it to backers around Christmastime. But as with any crowdfunding effort, there are risks involved — namely that Fuze wouldn’t ship by its expected date, or at all.

NVidia lancerà la nuova GTX 1080 Ti a gennaio

NVidia lancerà sul mercato la sua scheda video GTX 1080 Ti, prodotto di fascia alta, a gennaio. La presentazione, sempre stando alle indiscrezioni, dovrebbe avvenire durante la prossima edizione del CES di Las Vegas.

Com’è noto, la GTX 1080 Ti utilizzerà una GPU GP102 basata su 3328 CUDA core, 208 unità texture e ben 12 GB di memoria GDDR5X (le precedenti voci di corridoio parlavano, semplicemente, di memoria GDDR5).

La banda passante messa a disposizione dalla GTX 1080 Ti sarà pari a 480 GB/s, esattamente come la nuova Titan X.

Capace di raggiungere i 10,8 TeraFLOPS nei calcoli in virgola mobile a precisione singola (32 bit), le prestazioni della GTX 1080 Ti sembrano leggermente inferiori a quelle garantite dalla Titan X ma il prezzo sarà notevolmente più contenuto (dovrebbe attestarsi intorno agli 800 euro).

Obbligo rinnovabili e conto termico, come calcolare l’incentivo cui si ha diritto

Gli edifici nuovi o sottoposti a ristrutturazioni importanti devono obbligatoriamente coprire con le rinnovabili termiche una quota dei loro consumi. Vediamo quando e quanto gli impianti installati per assolvere all’obbligo citato sono incentivati con il nuovo Conto Termico: spiegazione ed esempi.

Il decreto legge 28/2011, come sappiamo, impone l’obbligo per gli edifici nuovi o sottoposti a ristrutturazioni importanti di soddisfare una certa quota del proprio fabbisogno energetico con le rinnovabili.

Toshiba, ecco la serie economica di SSD OCZ TL100

Toshiba punta molto al settore SSD, ben più che in passato. A pochi giorni dalla presentazione della serie OCZ VX500, ecco l’annuncio di un’altra serie che arriverà a breve sul mercato, contraddistinta dal nome di OCZ TL100 e pensata per entrare nell’arena degli SSD di primo prezzo.

Che i nuovi OCZ TL100 nascono per costare poco e convincere i possessori di un hard disk meccanico a fare il grande passo lo si capisce subito: i tagli sono solo due e anche non troppo capienti, 120GB e 240GB, mentre sul fronte chip Toshiba dichiara l’utilizzo degli economici TLC. Il controller è sempre di casa Toshiba, sebbene il modello preciso non venga dichiarato ma che si ipotizza essere simile a quelli già adottati in altre serie simili.

Il form factor è quello da 2,5 pollici slim, mentre l’interfaccia è la classica SATA 6Gbps; da segnalare sono sicuramente le prestazioni dichiarate, 550MB/s in lettura e 530MB/s in scrittura, anche per il modello meno capiente da 120GB. Ottimi valori quindi, a cui si aggiungo quelli degli IOPS dichiarati, 85000 e 80000 rispettivamente in random read e write 4K 32QD.

La garanzia è di tre anni con Adwanced Warranty Program, mentre il software in dotazione prevede il solo tool di gestione. Non sono state fatte dichiarazioni sul prezzo, anche perché molto dipenderà dal canale di distribuzione, ma sicuramente saranno molto abbordabili.
