Qtier – The Cards

From BPC275 Qtier – The CardsRelease Date: 13.09.2013Label: Bpitch ControlBPC Webshop: https://www.bpitchcontrol.de/market/browse/7904It is impossible to say exactly how many talented musicians in the Electronic Music scene are coming from the UK these days. It is certainly a lot, with London remaining the dynamic epicenter, pulsing exciting transmissions to the world.Qtier is one of the latest and most promising acts. With their first EP “Still,” Adam Pless and Howard Whiddet garnered a lot of attention and delighted the critics. Adam’s fragile vocals and Howard’s enchanting electronic sound combine for a wonderful blend. It is clear both of these artists share their love and influence of different musical genres. Having grown up with songs by bands such as Nirvana and Radiohead, Adam claims great inspiration from artists such as Kurt Cobain and Thom Yorke. While DJ Shadow, Aphex Twin and others however paved the way for Howard’s productions.Thier second single, “The Cards EP” will be released on BPitch Control this September. All four tracks stroll seamlessly between stunning beauty and cool grooves. The duo employ a grandiose emotional quality to play to the gallery, however not everything is about world-weariness. These songs investigatecontrol, adoration, & perception. All assembled the listener is left with an intense impression, easiness and gravity, tender melodies and deep basses. Incredibly beautiful, the soft voice of Adam nestles with fragility often nearly whispering in your ear. Set off by harmonic grooves and melodies that go deep into the heart. What makes this collaboration even more spectacular is the ability of these artists to play their instruments live, especially when seen supported by James Gordon on percussion. Their live show is mesmerizing.
