AMD debunks Ryzen DDR4 RAM problems

Shows Ryzen 7 running with DDR4-3400

There have been plenty of unconfirmed rumors recently saying that AMD’s upcoming Ryzen CPUs and AM4 motherboards could have support problems with high-frequency RAM, but the latest screenshot from AMD completely debunks them.

In a tweet at its official AMD Ryzen account, AMD showed the Ryzen 7 1700 SKU running with 16GB of G.Skill DDR4 memory clocked at 1701.0MHz (3400MHz effective) with 18-17-17-37-1T latencies.

The Ryzen 7 1700 CPU was running on ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero motherboard.

According to what we are hearing from guys that are currently playing with Ryzen samples, there are no problems with high-frequency RAM and there is even some further overclocking headroom left. Of course, review kits were limited to only three different motherboards and we are sure that some high-end motherboards will provide even higher overclocking potential.
