Carrie Fisher wird nun höchstwahrscheinlich doch in ‚Star Wars: Episode IX‘ zu sehen sein. Die Hollywood-Ikone wurde und wird vor allem aufgrund ihrer Darstellung von Prinzessin Leia in der Science-Fiction-Saga geliebt.

Ihr tragischer Tod im Dezember letzten Jahres kam für die Fans wie ein Schock. Die Szenen für den achten Teil der Reihe hatte die Schauspielerin noch fertig abgedreht. Doch wie es mit ihrer Figur in Teil neun weitergehen wird, stand bis jetzt in den Sternen. So befürchteten die Fans bereits, dass Leia einfach vom Bildfenster verschwinden würde. Denn einer digitalen Leia hatte Disney zuvor eine klare Absage erteilt. Wie ihr Bruder Todd Fisher nun erklärte, wurde angeblich eine Lösung gefunden. So sollen alte, private Familienaufnahmen seiner Schwester für ihren Part in dem Franchise umfunktioniert werden.

Die Produktion wird die Ermordung der Fashion-Ikone durch den Serienmörder Andrew Cunanan im Juli 1997 näher beleuchten. Giannis Schwester Donatella wird von Penélope Cruz dargestellt, während Édgar Ramírez den Modestar selbst spielt. Cunanans Part fällt ‚Glee‘-Star Darren Criss zu. Lange Zeit hielten sich hartnäckig Gerüchte, dass Lady Gaga die italienische Modeschöpferin, die nach dem Tod ihres Bruders die Firma übernahm, darstellen würde. Serienerfinder Ryan Murphy setzte den Spekulationen jedoch ein Ende.

Auf die Frage, ob die beiden jemals entsprechende Gespräche geführt hätten, meinte er gegenüber ‚Variety‘: „Nicht wirklich. Sie ist eine Freundin. Aber sie ist im nächsten Jahr sehr beschäftigt, sie macht den Super Bowl und filmt ‚A Star Is Born‘ und ich glaube, dass sie auf Tour gehen wird. Und wenn man eine Show wie ‚Versace‘ macht, dann ist das eine fünfmonatige Verpflichtung, es ist eine große Show und wir drehen auf der ganzen Welt.
