Anche AMD ha aggiornato i propri driver per schede video Radeon implementando supporto al nuovo gioco Mass Effect: Andromeda, in modo speculare a quanto fatto da NVIDIA per le proprie schede con i driver GeFoce 378.92. I driver Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.3.3 implementano con questo nuovo titolo anche il supporto a configurazioni multi GPU basate su tecnologia AMD CrossFire, accessibile attraverso una linea di comando eseguita da console del gioco.

- Enabling supersampling in Sniper Elite™ 4 may cause image cropping.
- Radeon Settings may crash on switching Windows® user after toggling AMD CrossFire™ technology mode.
- A small amount of apps may still experience issues with Borderless Fullscreen mode and AMD FreeSync™ technology if other applications or game launchers are running on the primary screen in the background.
- Counter-Strike™: Global Offensive and World of Warcraft™ may experience flickering or performance issues the first time the game is launched on a system boot with AMD FreeSync™ technology enabled. Workarounds include exiting and restarting the application or task switching (alt+tab) in and out of the game to fix the issue.
- Shadow Warrior 2™ may fail to enable Multi GPU on game launch due to a missing application profile in Radeon Settings.
Known Issues for Radeon ReLive
- The XBOX™ DVR application may cause conflicts with Radeon ReLive, users are suggested to disable XBOX™ DVR if Radeon ReLive is experiencing issues.
- Radeon ReLive may fail to install on AMD APU Family products or experience a system hang or failure to record when using the recording feature on AMD APU Family products.
- Radeon ReLive may intermittently fail to work after performing task switches of applications. A work around is to disable and then enable the feature in Radeon Software.
- Radeon ReLive may stop working after hot unplugging of a secondary display.
- Radeon ReLive will not allow recording settings to change with Instant Replay enabled. A workaround is to disable Instant Replay and change settings then enable Instant Replay.
- Vulkan™ applications may experience a game hang when using Radeon ReLive to record.
- Radeon ReLive will not notify an end user of low disk space during recording.
- System information overlay is only generated on first run and will not be repopulated when system configuration is changed.
- Radeon ReLive may exhibit corruption in recordings when capturing Microsoft Office applications.

Benefiting others improves individual-societal relationships
The founder of Acer Inc, who began his company back in 1976 and has now witnessed it become the sixth largest PC vendor in the world, admits he is not a fan of how Taiwanese students behave themselves during university graduation ceremonies.
The founder is now calling for Taiwan to place more emphasis on the relationship between the individual and society.
In an opinion column on Taiwan’s economic development published on local media Tuesday, Acer founder Stan Shih reflected on a recent experience in which he attended a university graduation filled with students offstage who were not respective of customary dialogue mannerisms during the event. He claims that when guests or professors are speaking, there is not much regard from the audience to pay attention to their speeches without engaging in “raucous” monologue that “represents disrespect for the guests and professors and disrespect toward fellow audience members.”
“I believe this is a lack of respect for social relations and toward other individuals,” Shih wrote.
While the company’s founder placed emphasis on slowly building Taiwan’s relationship between individual and society, he notes the ironic contrast between educated university students and audience members attending elementary school graduation ceremonies, such as his granddaughter’s ceremony at a local Japanese language school. “Each graduating student had an opportunity to address teachers, classmates and parents about their schooling experience, which brought a wave of emotion throughout the audience.” He admits a much stronger emotional connection to this type of representative dialogue where each student was given an opportunity to express their reflections on the schooling experience without being interrupted by unruly fellow students or negligent audience members.
Shih associates some of these vices with current trends in the global Internet-based society, with themes including cyber bullying and the rampant spread of false information through unaccredited news sources. The relationship between individual and society can only be cured when people begin to realize the golden rule for what it actually does – when we benefit others, we benefit ourselves, in a way where both the individual and the society can develop a closer, more cooperative relationship.

Google Maps deve la sua popolarità non solo all’affidabilità delle sue indicazioni, ma anche ad una serie di chicche che probabilmente usiamo senza neanche accorgercene. Fra le più evidenti la segnalazione di traffico, ingorghi o incidenti lungo il percorso, ma anche piccoli dettagli sui locali pubblici o le possibili mete di destinazione rendono l’esperienza d’uso dell’app migliore possibile. Fra queste funzioni se ne aggiungerà ben presto una nuova, avvistata per prima da Android Police.
Parliamo della possibilità di aggiungere manualmente il luogo in cui abbiamo parcheggiato all’interno dell’applicazione, con tanto di timer che ci ricorderà la scadenza del parchimetro. La funzione è già presente sulla versione beta di Google Maps v9.49 che potrebbe debuttare nei prossimi giorni nei canali pubblici, dove l’ultima release è – oggi – la 9.48.2. Il luogo del parcheggio è una delle feature di Google Now, ma le due funzioni non sono del tutto identiche.
La stessa Google sostiene che la funzionalità presente su Google Now non è affidabile al 100% e in molte circostanze può fallire nel suo intento di mostrare il punto del parcheggio. Google Now si affida ai sensori e alle informazioni captate dallo smartphone, quindi non può distinguere l’auto parcheggiata da una fermata del tram o, ancor più difficile, da una corsa in taxi. In tutti i questi casi vi dirà che avete parcheggiato dove avete lasciato il mezzo pubblico e non sarà molto utile.
Essendo del tutto manuale, la feature su Google Maps è invece affidabile praticamente in ogni circostanza. È inoltre possibile inserire note per il luogo di parcheggio, ad esempio il settore di un parcheggio pubblico o la fotografia dell’ambiente. Inoltre, ancora più interessante per gli smemorati, la funzione integra un timer configurabile per ricordare all’utente per quanto tempo ha pagato il parcheggio o per quanto tempo può sostare in quel determinato punto.
Il timer verrà mostrato non solo nella schermata, ma anche all’interno delle mappe nel punto in cui è stata lasciata l’automobile. Si tratta di una funzionalità senza dubbio molto utile per chi vive in grandi aree urbane e gira spesso in automobile, un piccolo dettaglio che può evitarci multe certamente poco desiderate. Google non ha ancora annunciato formalmente la funzionalità, né il suo arrivo su Google Maps per iOS, ma è probabile che sia questione di pochi giorni.
