Steven Weston graces the Splendor stage with a very special live set.

Steven Weston recently returned to Anjunadeep with his third EP 'Give Me Something', collaborating with fellow London-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ormella, as well as Oscar Farrell, who has previously remixed Kassian and DJ Seinfeld.

Steven Weston is a GRAMMY-nominated producer, engineer and songwriter, who has worked with esteemed artists such as Rudimental, Alt-J, Will.i.am, as well as collaborating with Läpsley on his previous Anjunadeep release 'Like I Used To', which has been streamed over 6 million times since release. Steven has also been touring with UNKLE, in the US last year as well as more recently in China marking the start of the reputable band's 2024 schedule.

l’iPod Classic del 2024 è fatto con Raspberry Pi, uno schermo e-ink e la stampa 3D

Vi manca il vostro vecchio iPod Classic e volete un lettore musicale con cui non fare altro che ascoltare la vostra musica preferita? Costruite un ePiPod. Il progetto di Del Hatch, raccontato dall’autore su Hackaday, consiste proprio nella creazione di un lettore musicale ispirato all’iPod Classic.

Tutto si basa su un Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W e prende ispiranzione da PiPod, altro progetto realizzato dal maker Bram Rausch. La differenza? ePiPod usa, come intuibile dal nome, uno schermo e-ink, tra l’altro perfettamente visibile sotto la luce del sole.

Lo schermo da 2,13″ ha una risoluzione di 250 x 122 pixel e sostituisce lo schermo TFT da 2,2 pollici presente sul PiPod originale, mentre la batteria da 1200 mAh offre quasi 5 ore di riproduzione. 

L’audio è gestito da un DAC I2S 24-bit, è presente un amplificatore per cuffie a bassa impedenza e un jack da 3.5mm a cui collegarle. Presente anche un equalizzatore a 10 bande, mentre manca il bluetooth per collegare cuffie senza fili (ma del resto, nemmeno l’iPod Classic lo aveva). 

Il controllo del software, sviluppato in Python, avviene tramite 5 pulsanti frontali, mentre ci sono 2 tasti laterali per controllare il volume. L’ePiPod permette di riprodurre le canzoni in ordine alfabetico o casuale, mostrando sullo schermo il titolo, l’artitsta, l’album, il genere e il numero della traccia. È possibile anche scegliere di riprodurre più canzoni dell’artista, l’album in cui è presente la canzone o altri brani dello stesso genere. Insomma, un lettore musicale davvero completo!

Il remake di Disney Epic Mickey arriverà a settembre

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed verrà rilasciato il prossimo 24 settembre su PlayStation, Xbox, Switch e PC. Si tratta del remake del gioco di piattaforme uscito originariamente nel 2010 per Nintendo Wii e sviluppato da Junction Point Studios, la software house di Warren Spector, colui che resterà nella storia dei videogiochi come responsabile principale di alcuni grandi RPG del passato come Ultima VI: The False Prophet e Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss, oltre che System Shock e Deus Ex.

Il remake non rinuncerà alla peculiare caratterizzazione visiva del gioco originale, che permetteva a Topolino di dipingere e cancellare oggetti nel mondo per risolvere enigmi e poter proseguire verso le aree di gioco successive. Epic Mickey ebbe anche il merito di riportare all’attenzione degli appassionati il personaggio di Oswald, il coniglio Re di Wasteland, ovvero una delle prime creazioni del grande Walt, velocemente dimenticata.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed

Torneranno anche i contorti segmenti da gioco di piattaforme del gioco originale, che lo sviluppatore di questo remake, Purple Lamp, cercherà di rendere più gestibili. Ci sarà anche una Collector’s Edition di Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed con una statua di Topolino da 28 cm, un portachiavi di Oswald il coniglio fortunato, un’insegna vintage in metallo di Topolino, 6 cartoline, una custodia in acciaio e il Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed Costume Pack, con alcuni costumi speciali per personalizzare Topolino durante le sequenze di gioco.

La versione di base di Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed costerà 59,99 euro, mentre la Collector’s Edition verrà venduta a 199,99 euro, ma verrà prodotta in soli 5 mila esemplari.

Over voltage happens when the voltage supplied exceeds the device’s designed capacity. This can lead to malfunction of appliances or damage electronic circuit boards due to heat and stress.

These surges can result from several scenarios, including:

  1. Lightning strikes: When lightning strikes, it can directly hit a building’s electrical system, or, more often, the electrical surges caused by nearby lightning can travel through power or communication lines and damage the electrical system and devices connected to it.
  2. Power outages or utility switching: During electrical grid operation, the utility sometimes switches the power supply to another source or temporarily stops the flow of power to customers to clear a fault from the system. These interruptions in power flow can cause surges when the power is disconnected and then reconnected to devices and appliances.
  3. Large appliances cycling on and off: Devices with high power requirements, like air conditioners and refrigerators, can create surges in power that disrupt the steady flow of voltage.
  4. With faulty wiring or overloaded circuits: Old or poorly installed wiring can fail to handle the demands of modern appliances, leading to under voltage, over voltage, or surges.
