EKWB releases its own M.2 SSD heatsink

Coming in Nickel and Black versions

EK Water Blocks, known for its high-end liquid cooling components, has announced its new passive heatsink for M.2 form-factor SSDs.

While it might not have anything to do with liquid cooling, the EK-M.2 NVMe Heatsink should provide a decent improvement in SSD cooling, anywhere between 8°C and 11°C, according to EKWB. The M.2 NVMe SSD are known to overheat and suffer from what is known as thermal throttling, or lower performance due to higher temperatures, so any bit of cooling helps.

According to EKWB, the new EK-M.2 NVMe Heatsink is compatible with all single sided type 2280 M.2 NVMe SSDs with M.2 (NGFF) connectors of 4.2mm in height and comes with a front heatsink and backplate.

The EK-M.2 NVMe Heatsink is available in two versions, Black and Nickel, and should be already available directly from EK Webshop or its Partner Reseller Network. The price is set at €9.96 for the Black and €12.94 for the Nickel version.
